Eagle Rising

http://eaglerising.com/

Launched:
In 2013 by Gary DeMar and Brandon Vallorani. DeMar is president and editor-in-chief and Vallorani is CEO. Eagle Rising is owned by Bravera Holdings LLC.

Political position:
Right-wing. The site takes a fairly standard conservative position on most issues, but some of its columns are fairly moderate and reasonable in their tone and do not always rubber-stamp the hardline conservative position. For example, one columnist wrote that Attorney General Jeff Sessions did the right thing by recusing himself from the Russia investigation. However, the site does take a fairly typical conservative stance of criticizing mainstream media outlets and favoring any coverage that puts conservatives in a good light.

Trustworthy:
Most content on Eagle Rising consists of opinion pieces and therefore are not trying to pass themselves off as news. Eagle Rising lists the names of its administrators and staff editors and some of its writers have photos. It provides no other biographical information about its staff and owners.

Other points:
The site includes advertising. It has a free email newsletter and no paid subscription product is available. Eagle Rising has a link to the online store Patriot Depot that sells right-wing gear like Don't Tread on Me bumper stickers and pro-life t-shirts. Eagle Rising has an active comment section at the bottom of most news pages. The site is divided into several content categories: culture, faith, media, education and politics. Eagle Rising says that it is a member site of Liberty Alliance, an association of several conservative news sites."
